COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food, & the Arts is pleased to offer our members and guests this unique opportunity to experience such a broad and important collection of Ira Yeager’s work. Yeager is one of the most important and widely collected California, San Francisco Bay Area painters. His work demonstrates extreme range and ability from historically inspired Abstract Expressionism to Northern California landscapes. Yeager is a student of the world having derived his formal training in San Francisco and Florence under contemporaries such as Elmer Bischoff, Richard Diebenkorn, Nathan Oliveira and Primo Conti. Yeager has discovered his own perspective and unique voice from the dichotomy of his time spent in the major cities and the rural countryside during his extensive travels in England, Mexico, Greece, France, Italy and New York. This thoughtfully curated exhibit is a journey that explores abstract relational studies of man and animal, then invites us to experience his noteworthy surreal American Indian portraits. We are transported from scenes of provincial rural life to recreations of the artist’s studio complete with objects of his inspiration and fancy. Ira Yeager is a true living artistic legend and Copia is honored to be able to share this extensive collection of his works never before assembled together.

This exhibition is an important commitment to the significance of combining a rich pallet of learning, inspiration, and enjoyment across wine, food, and the arts.
